RHODES 2024 11th International
Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management will take place in RHODES Island, Greece from
19th to 22nd June 2024. The conference website is
available at: https://rhodes2024.uest.gr. The conference will take place both with
physical presence and virtually. More than 550 abstracts have already been received from all over
the world.
The extended deadline
for abstract submission is on 29th February 2024 (https://rhodes2024.uest.gr/abstract-submission).
The summer school - Executive Training on
waste management & circular economy (6th PhD Summer School)
will take place on 17th & 18th June 2024.
The first five (5) collaborating journals (https://rhodes2024.uest.gr/publications-in-journals/) & the first five (5) keynote speakers have
been announced.
It is noted that awards will be provided for the best posters
during the closing session, while a wide exhibition area is
foreseen for companies/entities dealing with waste & energy. Networking
sessions for projects dealing with sustainable fuels, for projects
dealing with biowaste, plastics, paper, metals or/and glass & for
projects dealing with waste & water circular economy, wastewater
& brine management will be included in the conference agenda,
with the presence of high-level European Commission & CINEA
representatives providing high networking opportunities.
New conference topics include:
Hydrogen: solutions & innovations for H2 production,
efficient storage, distribution & applications, Biomethane, Methanol
and other sustainable biofuels, Solar technologies to enable and
encompass sustainability and circularity in the energy sector,
Environmental Diplomacy, Brine Management & Treatment, Metal / salt
recovery from brine.
The closing events of two
(2) successful LIFE projects (LIFE CIRCforBIO: https://circforbio.eu & LIFE BRINE-MINING: https://brinemining.eu) will also be included in the
conference agenda. Additional sessions of HORIZON EUROPE, PRIMA,
LIFE events will be announced soon.
Splendid social events will
be organised, while the one-day site visit-excursion will take
place on Saturday 22nd June 2024. The welcome cocktail will be on Wednesday 19th June
2024 after the end of the conference sessions. The Gala Dinner
will take place on Thursday 20th June 2024. More news will
soon be available.
